January 2020: Making the Impossible, Possible
A new year often offers us a fresh perspective. It feels full of new possibilities. It’s amazing how different and life changing moving the calendar from December 31st to January 1st can be.
As we stand at the edge of a new year (and a new decade), I am filled with anticipation for what God will do in 2020.
Many of us ask the Lord for a word or phrase for their year. We do; we do this personally and as a church. At the end of last year, I felt God begin to challenge me. He pointed out a couple of stories in the bible. The first one was the story of the sun standing still while the battle raged on. In the story it says, “There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being.” Joshua 10:14. That statement caught my attention.
The other story was about the widow’s oil. The widow could see all the things pressing in on her, she was desperate for help. So Elisha asks her, “Tell me what you have in your house.” (2 Kings 4:2) Her answer was in her own home.
Those stories are powerful for many reasons, but I love seeing something impossible happen. This year for us is a year of making the impossible, possible. It’s time to believe for greater things. We’ve seen it in our lives before, but I believe this year will surpass all others. I believe it will come through things and people we never expected. I want fresh eyes to see things. What do I have in my house Lord?
It’s time to move forward. This year will see us take new ground. It will be a year of buildings, land and advancement. I’m not even sure of all the impossible things we need to believe for as of yet. I do know that I am thinking too small.
Ephraim is a fulfillment of one of God’s promises to us. We believed for him for 10 years before he came. We had given up before a prophetic word reminded us to press in with this promise. We’ve seen Him move (we could list many other times too). Still, I felt God say to dream bigger.
What are you believing for? Is there something we can join in praying for you about? Is there something you’ve dropped and let go of because it seems impossible? Believe again.
Love,
Kris, Tab and Ephraim
