February 2020: Confidence

We don’t need self-confidence, we need God-confidence.

~ Joyce Meyer

Confidence… this is the word that came up for our church during our week of fasting and prayer.  Confidence in God. Confidence in who I am in Christ. Confidence that He’ll do what He says He will do.  Confidence. It’s a firm trust that our God is who He says He is.

It’s easy to lose confidence.  Things don’t always go the way we want them to go.  People don’t respond the way we hope they will. It’s impossible to find our confidence outside of God.  Everything else will be counterfeit and fall short.

We’ve started a women’s bible study this past week and it’s talking about self-focus.  We live in a world where people are so focused on themselves; what people think about them.  Our confidence becomes linked to what others think and we end up becoming upset with who we are.

As New Testament believers our confidence comes from Jesus.  He made a way so we could boldly come to his throne. It’s because of Him we don’t have to knock ourselves down when we make a mistake.  We can stand and believe for healing, peace, grace, etc… It’s about Jesus; not me.

It really takes the pressure off.  Leave Him in control. So ask yourself, am I confident in Christ or do I look too often to myself?

What we’ve been up to…

It’s always great to go back to our home base.  Kris spent two weeks teaching at VABC in Sriracha.   Ephraim and I met him down there for the wedding of our friends David and Lana.  Ephraim was the ring bearer and did a great job. He took his role very seriously.  Now he’s ready for Jo and Ben’s wedding.

We love to start our year with fasting and prayer.  As a church we spent a week praying and worshipping together.  It was great to hear what God was saying to us. We all came away refreshed and ready for another year.

Church has been going very well.  Our people are excited about this next year.  Please continue to pray for us to find a building.  As you can see in the picture at the top, our house isn’t big enough.  It’s a great problem, but we’re ready to move forward.

We love you, stay in touch.

Kris, Tab and Ephraim

We are still believing for new supporters.  If you have ever considered it, now is the time.  You can give on our website www.victorymaesai.com.  Or you can contact me at tabithapagan@gmail.com for other ways to give.
